They are two names for the same thing. In Australia people often say star sign, while zodiac sign and sun sign are just as common. All three refer to the sign the sun was in on the day you were born.

What is a sun sign, moon sign and rising sign?

Your sun sign is your main zodiac sign, based on your birth date, and it reflects your core personality. Your moon sign relates to your emotions and inner world. Your rising sign, or ascendant, is the sign that was coming up over the horizon at your exact time of birth. Together they paint a fuller picture than the sun sign alone.

Can you be two zodiac signs?

Not exactly, but if you were born within a day or two of where one sign ends and the next begins, you are said to be on the cusp. Cusp births often relate to traits from both neighbouring signs, even though your sun sign is still just one of them.

What is the rarest zodiac sign?
