What Is a Zodiac Cusp?

A zodiac cusp is the narrow window where one star sign ends and the next begins, usually the last few days of one sign and the first day or two of the next. If you were born in that window, you may feel a blend of both signs rather than a clean fit with just one, and astrologers give each of these overlaps its own name and flavour.

Strictly speaking, the Sun is only ever in one sign at a time, so your true sign is whichever the Sun was in on the day you were born. How do I know if I am on the cusp?

Can you really be two star signs?
Not officially. The Sun sits in one sign at a time, so you have one true sign. But if you were born on the edge, the neighbouring sign can strongly colour your personality.
What are cusp dates?
Each cusp covers roughly the last few days of one sign and the first day or two of the next, so about a four or five day window around each sign change.
Which sign do I put on forms?
Use your true Sun sign, the one the Sun was actually in on your birth date. The cusp is about personality, not your official sign.
